PRINCIPAL

Joe Harris, AIA, NCARB, LEED-AP is a licensed architect in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. He's an expert in all scales of residential design including mixed-use multifamily buildings, affordable and senior living, new homes, condo units, row houses, suburban and country houses, historic buildings, and large estates.

His professional background is in large multi-family and mixed-use building design, as well as two decades in single-family work in DC, the Maryland suburbs, and Virginia countryside.

For the last 20+ years he has lived in DC apartments and condos ranging in style and vintage. He lives in Glover Park with his wife and two kids in a modest apartment, which gives him personal insight on the space demands of the modern city dweller. As a lifelong runner and cyclist, his love for the outdoors is central to his design vision.

PRINCIPAL

JoseMi Jauregui was born and raised in Ecuador where he studied and worked in Architecture, Graphic Design, and Industrial Design before starting his Masters at the University of Oregon. He has been practicing for more than 15 years. JoseMi partnered with Joe after working at some of the top firms in DC, including key roles on large mixed-use residential projects in the Navy Yards/Ballpark and Eckington neighborhoods.

At CACAO, JoseMi takes the lead on design, production, and implementation. He has a passion for detailing and loves to synthesize complex design problems. For JoseMi, "Everything is a design problem. Design can change the world."

Whenever he’s not practicing architecture or traveling with his family, you can probably find him kicking the soccer ball with his friends. JoseMi lives in Brightwood with his wife and two children.
